Non-Infectious Diseases
Non-Infectious Diseases also known as Non-communicable diseases are not transmitted to other people. They are not contagious like Infectious Diseases. They are usually caused from genetics, lifestyle and environmental factors.
Examples of Non-Infectious Diseases
Skin Cancer
Skin Cancer is a non-infectious disease and is caused by an environmental factor. Skin Cancer is developed when the human body receives too much of the sun's ultraviolet radiation. This causes problems and damages the cells in the layer of the epidermis which is the layer outside of the skin. There are three cells found in this layer and they are: basal cells, squamous cells and melanocytes. All these cells get damaged when they come in contact with ultraviolet radiation and this causes skin cancer. The symptoms of skin cancer is a red lump on the skin that is usually pale. Also a sore that doesn't heal can be a sign of skin cancer. Anyone can develop skin cancer but the people mostly at risk are those with fair skin, people with freckles and mainly the people who spend a lot of their time outdoors.

Asthma
Asthma is a non-infectious disease also known as a lung disease. It inflames the airways and the air passages to the lungs become narrowed. As a result of the airways becoming narrowed there is not enough room for the the air to pass through therefore the victim has difficulty breathing. The three main reasons why the airway narrows is because, the airways become red and swollen, mucus is a sticky substance which is created and can block up the airways and the muscles near the airway tighten. Asthma has many symptoms and they are, shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing and a tight feeling in the chest. Asthma is particularly common in children. Factors can trigger asthma and these are: change in weather especially cold or wet conditions, exercise or physical activity and cigarette smoke. Individuals with asthma own an inhaler which is used for relieving asthma.
